  • Acting President of TÜBİTAK since 2004.
    As a result of restructuring of TÜBİTAK that she initiated in 2004, number of employees has increased 6%, budget has increased almost five-fold in 2007 as compared to 2003. During this period, financial support given by TÜBİTAK to universities, private and public research organizations within the Turkish Research Area increased more than eight-fold; number of fellowships and scholarships went up more than five-fold. Income generated by TÜBİTAK´s research institutes doubled.
  • B. S. in Chemical Engineering at Bosphorus University (1973)
  • MBA in Operations Management at Bosphorus University (1975)
  • Ph. D. in Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (1982)
  • Director of the Turkish Institute for Industrial Management (2000-2003).
    During her tenure there, she led organizational management improvement and Restructuring projects for more than 75 organizations. From 2000 through 2003, number of employees increased 40%, operational income of the institute went up 20-fold. In 2002 self sufficiency rate of the institute was 110%
  • Former Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Engineering (MUFE) (1994-2000) where she established Master and Doctoral Programs of Engineering Management.
    She led Continuous Quality Improvement activities at MUFE which is the first Turkish public organization that became a finalist for the European Quality Award in 2000. She also led MUFE to be the first applicant and finalist of European Quality Award in higher education.
